LILLINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A 23-month-old North Carolina girl has died after being struck by a vehicle which authorities say was driven by a family member.
Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats told local news outlets that deputies responding to a call on Tuesday found the girl had been hit by the car. A news release from the sheriff’s office said Jada Jones was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The sheriff’s office hasn’t identified the person driving the car.
While the incident is under investigation, Coats said it appears to nothing more than a tragic accident.
