WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro is considering selling the naming rights to some stations as a way to increase revenue.

The idea is one of a number of options for boosting revenue that was laid out in documents released Monday. Other ideas include winning back riders with a marketing campaign on increased reliability and increasing the parking fees at some stations depending on the location and the time of day or of the week.

Existing policy prohibits the sale of station naming rights. But Metro staff say there may be potential station naming opportunities at Gallery Place, Navy Yard-Ballpark, Metro Center and L’Enfant Plaza.
