EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - Fire officials say a woman and two boys sustained injuries at a fire at a duplex in Everett in northwestern Washington state that also killed two dogs.

Officials say the woman was taken to a local hospital and the boys were treated at the scene of the fire reported at about 4 p.m. Friday.

Fire officials say an electric heating element on a stove top was accidentally switched on and ignited nearby cardboard boxes.



Damage is estimated at $175,000.
