REISTERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - Police say a Maryland teacher accused of engaging in a sex act with a student has left the county.

Baltimore County Police tell local news media outlets that an arrest warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Ekatherine Pappas. Police say they believe Pappas has left the country.

Police say a Franklin High School official found a video on a student’s phone of Pappas engaged in a sex act with a male student.

Police say she would be charged with sexual abuse of a minor and other related charges.

School officials say Pappas started working at Franklin High School in November.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Pappas’ whereabouts to contact police.
