BETHESDA, Md. (AP) - A Metro worker has been rescued after falling 20 to 30 feet down a utility shaft near the Bethesda Metro station.

Montgomery County Fire spokesman Pete Piringer says the man fell early Thursday to the bottom of the vent shaft.

Rescuers pulled the worker to the surface at about 1:30 a.m. Piringer says the man suffered injuries to his legs and back, and was also suffering from hypothermia, but he is expected to be OK.
