NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island are investigating a fatal house fire in North Amityville.

Several fire departments responded to the home on Jefferson Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say a man, who does not live in the home, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released his name. A dog was also killed in the fire.



Two women who lived in the home were hospitalized for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
