PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies in Pahrump are looking for a man who is believed to have shot into a vehicle at a school bus stop, fired again inside a home before hitching a ride from a stranger and disappearing.
Nye County sheriff’s Sgt. David Boruchowitz (buh-ROOK’-uh-witz) said Wednesday the man has a distinctive tattoo like a bird or butterfly on his face, and he was last seen getting out of a black SUV near Red Butte and Bourbon streets.
Boruchowitz says the first shooting happened near Blagg Road and Comstock Avenue, not far from state highways 160 and 372. A female driver wasn’t injured.
The man then ran into a nearby house where people inside fled and said he fired a gun inside.
Boruchowitz says it doesn’t appear that the shootings had anything to do with schools, but deputies increased patrols around nearby campuses as a precaution.
