FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Hundreds of people marched in Fort Collins to show solidarity with immigrants and Muslims after President Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily banning refugees.
The Coloradoan posted video online (https://goo.gl/PeuGg1 ) showing some in the crowd Tuesday carrying signs and chanting, “No hate. No fear. Everyone is welcome here” and “This is what democracy looks like.” Several drivers honked as they passed by.
The march drew an estimated 2,500 people.
Trump’s order suspended the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program for 120 days and instituted a 90-day ban on all entry to the United States from citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries. It also halted entry to the U.S. by Syrian refugees indefinitely.
At least three Colorado State University students were affected by Trump’s order. One is a doctoral student who was stranded in Jordan on her way back from Libya, where she traveled to attend her father’s funeral.
