TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a man who distributed child pornography online and used aliases to contact underage girls has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.

Shawn Brown will also be on lifetime supervised release under the sentence imposed Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Ewing man admitted sending a video depicting child sexual abuse to another person via instant messaging software in July 2013.

Authorities first learned of Brown’s conduct when an undercover agent found and downloaded child porn images and videos Brown had made available via a peer-to-peer file sharing network. They traced the sharer’s username and IP address back to Brown’s residence.

A review of Brown’s electronic devices found he had been using aliases to contact underage girls online via instant messaging software and social media, where he had created a fake profile posing as a teenage boy.
