JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - A Jamestown man has been criminally charged following a lengthy standoff with local law enforcement the day after Christmas.

Thirty-three-year-old Troy Alan Elhard is facing felony charges of aggravated assault, domestic violence, preventing arrest, and discharge of other duties.

Authorities say they were called to a home where a woman said she had been assaulted by Elhard, who barricaded himself in the trailer house for eight hours. Tactical officers evacuated homes in neighborhood. Officials say three loaded guns were confiscated.

KQDJ (https://bit.ly/2iA1osf ) reports Elhard was apprehended after tear gas was used. It was not immediately clear whether Elhard has an attorney.
