ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - A female Calhoun County corrections officer has reportedly been sexually assaulted by an inmate at the jail.
Sheriff Matthew Wade tells Al.com (https://bit.ly/2kEQ8yt ) that the alleged incident reportedly happened in December.
Wade says the officer told investigators she went into an inmate section to adjust a television set when an inmate, on hold from the U.S. Marshal’s Service, grabbed her groin area. Wade says the officer, who is 19, didn’t report the incident until this week when she informed her supervisor.
He says the incident was also captured on video.
The inmate, whose name has not been released, could face a charge of sexual abuse.
The incident remains under investigation.
