The nephew shot three times at the mountain lion, severely injuring it. The mountain lion limped down the street and died in the yard of a home.

The neighbor’s dog didn’t survive the attack, and the state Division of Utah of Wildlife Resources believes it was the second killed in Cedar Fort recently by a mountain lion.

The other case involving a missing dog whose found tracks and blood.

Strickland says he’s glad the mountain lion is dead because it could have attacked a person.
