PONCA, Neb. (AP) - The state Game and Parks Commission has scheduled a Birds and Breakfast event next month at Ponca State Park in northeast Nebraska.

The activities Feb. 11 will include Great Backyard Bird Count tours with an expert birder from the Loess Hills Audubon Society, a birding hike with a naturalist, educational sessions on owls, and a bird behavior scavenger hunt.

Cabin guests and birders can enjoy a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage links, which is free to cabin guests. Call the park at 402-755-2284 for more information and to register.

The park sits about a mile north of Ponca in Dixon County. A park entry permit is required.
