SOMERVILLE, Mass. (AP) - Fire officials say several residents jumped out of a second-story window of a Somerville home that went up in flames.
The blaze began just after 2:30 a.m. Friday at the multi-family home. Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames and smoke throughout the building.
City Fire Chief Patrick Sullivan says some residents jumped before fire crews arrived. Four people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Some neighbors were evacuated but have since been allowed to return to their homes.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were in the home.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
