FREMONT, Calif. (AP) - For a second time in less than a week, a motorist drove off the road and into a rain swollen creek east of San Francisco.
KNTV reports (https://bit.ly/2jVm2Dw ) Thursday that the motorist was able to get out of the black Suzuki and was uninjured. The accident happened about 5 a.m. in Fremont.
Earlier this week, an overturned car was pulled from the creek after 18-year-old Jayda Jenkins apparently lost control during a rainstorm and plunged into the surging waters. Her body has not been found. Some of her clothes have been recovered. A search will resume Thursday.
On Jan. 10, a motorist drove into flooded waters along nearly the same route. The motorist didn’t realize how deep the water was following the heavy rains and was stuck after a mudslide shut off part of the road. The vehicle did not go into the creek.
