PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say an elderly woman was critically injured after a dog attack in northwest Philadelphia.

Police say officers were sent to a home in the Germantown neighborhood shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after a report of a person screaming.

Police say they found a 96-year-old woman unresponsive with multiple dog bites to her head, face and arms.

She was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in extremely critical condition.

Police said a 3-year-old pit bull and a 10-year-old pit bull were at the scene.
