BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Police and relatives of a 14-year-old girl injured in a fatal crash in Buffalo last week say the teen has died after being taken off life support.
Aniyah Lewis was riding in a car along with four other teenagers when the vehicle crashed into a tree along Kensington Avenue early on the morning Jan. 18.
Police say the driver, 17-year-old Zaire Abernathy, was killed and the three 14-year-old girls riding with him were injured.
WIVB-TV reports Lewis had been in critical condition at a Buffalo hospital when she died Tuesday. The other two girls remain hospitalized, one in critical condition and the other in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
