QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a young boy was one of the two people found dead in a Queen Creek home after a fire was extinguished.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s officials say the cause of Wednesday afternoon’s fire still is unknown and their arson investigators remain on the scene.

Sheriff’s officials announced Thursday that 12-year-old Joshua Arnett died in the fire, but the identity of the other body is pending forensic tests.

Queen Creek Fire Department officials say they received reports around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday about a fire at a house near Hawkes and Chandler Heights roads.

They say the blaze was quickly contained and two people were then discovered dead inside the home.
