President Trump will visit the Homeland Security Department on Wednesday as part of what he called a big push on national security — and said building his border wall is still part of that.

Homeland Security is one of the departments Mr. Trump has the biggest plans for, having vowed to crack down on illegal immigration during the campaign.

“Big day planned on NATIONAL SECURITY tomorrow. Among many other things, we will build the wall!” Mr. Trump said on Twitter Tuesday night.

Homeland Security includes the Secret Service, the government’s emergency response agency, the Coast Guard and three separate agencies that handle immigration. Those agencies have faced pressure from all sides as the immigration debate has raged over the last decade.

The labor unions for Border Patrol agents and interior enforcement agents backed Mr. Trump during the campaign, saying they hoped he would free them from the strictures imposed by President Obama and let them do the enforcement jobs they were hired to do.

In another tweet, Mr. Trump also said he would “send in the Feds” if Chicago doesn’t get a handle on the raging violence in that city.
