WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - Schools in dozens of New York counties are closed or are opening late because of wintry weather than has left roads slick and icy.

The Journal News reports (https://lohud.us/2koJ3xP ) that all of Putnam County’s schools are closed Tuesday and several school districts in northern Westchester and Rockland are opening late.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties until noon.



Several crashes have been reported Tuesday on Interstate 87 and Interstate 95.
