SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Hereford man has been arrested after allegedly firing shots in Sierra Vista and possibly damaging a church.

Sierra Vista police say there’s a bullet hole in the wall of Sierra Lutheran Church where several spent shell casings were found outside.

They say the church and a daycare center next door to it both were occupied at the time of Monday night’s shooting, but there were no injuries.

Police say 45-year-old James Allen Hamblin remains jailed in Cochise County Jail.

They say he’s being held on suspicion of endangerment, discharging a firearm at a structure, unlawful discharge of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage, recklessly discharging a deadly weapon, and possessing a deadly weapon while being a prohibited possessor.

It was unclear Tuesday if Hamblin has a lawyer yet.
