DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials say a 54-year-old woman was seriously injured when a tree fell on her during a storm that brought high winds and heavy rains to the mid-Atlantic region.
New Castle County paramedics say the Mill Creek woman was taken to a hospital with leg and chest injuries after a tree fell in her backyard.
Delmarva Power reported about 2,700 power outages Monday afternoon in Delaware and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore as high winds brought down trees and power lines throughout the region.
Delaware transportation officials reported standing water and trees down on several roadways.
