PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say friends of a man who died after being shot at a west Philadelphia bar didn’t immediately realize he’d been wounded.

Police haven’t released the name of the 35-year-old man who died at a hospital after first being driven to a relative’s home about 2 a.m. Monday.

Police aren’t sure where and exactly when the man was shot, but believe it’s somewhere near the bar where the man was when a fight broke out. The name of the bar hasn’t been identified.

Medics rushed the man to Penn Presbyterian Hospital once the man’s friends realized he was wounded, but he died.

A friend of the man told police they were at the bar when a fright broke out inside, then spilled outside the bar.
