Well, that was nice while it lasted.
As of Sunday, mailing a letter will once again cost 49 cents, after dropping down down to 47 cents last April.
The rate hike by the Postal Regulatory Commission was first announced in October. The PRC periodically revises the prices to keep pace with inflation.
Fortunately for visitors to the inauguration mailing souvenir postcards back home, that postage rate is staying the same: 34 cents.
