LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A 15-year-old boy has died after he was shot in Lexington.
News outlets report that Robert Durrum was found Wednesday night in a subdivision’s road. Police say the teenager had been shot at least once in the abdomen and died shortly after he was taken to a hospital.
The coroner’s office says the death has been ruled a homicide. It’s the second fatal shooting in Lexington in 2017. Of the 24 murder victims in 2016, seven were 18 or younger.
Authorities have not released any information about a possible suspect or motive for the slaying.
Fayette County Public Schools spokeswoman Lisa Deffendal tells WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/2jDh7ZO ) that Durrum was a freshman at Lafayette High School.
