DUMFRIES, Va. (AP) - Prince William County police have identified the homicide victim whose body was found along the Potomac River.
The department said in a news release Monday that the body of 21-year-old Christian Sosa Rivas of Fairfax was found Thursday along the river in Dumfries.
Police said an autopsy was conducted on Friday and the manner of death was determined to be homicide. Police have not detailed how Sosa Rivas was killed, but they say he had trauma to the body.
No suspects have been named.
The slaying is the first in Prince William in 2017. Last year, the county had a record-high 22 homicides.
