SHIRLEY, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island woman who was pumping gas and seriously injured when a car crashed into the gas station in Shirley has died.
Suffolk County police say 62-year-old Rosalie Koenig, of Mastic, was pronounced dead at Stony Brook Hospital on Sunday.
Police say Koenig was at a Mobil on William Floyd Parkway Saturday when a car turned into the gas station and slammed into the pump, pinning Koenig to her vehicle.
Police say the driver, Renee McKinney, of Mastic, was arrested on a charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs. She’s scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. It wasn’t clear if she had a lawyer.
