‘Don’s Johns’ name on inauguration porta-potties found covered with tape

Executives at Don’s Johns portable toilet rentals are baffled after the company’s name was covered up with blue tape on dozens of porta-potties set up near the Capitol for President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“I don’t understand it, I don’t know what’s going on,” Rob Weghorst, chief operating officer for Don’s Johns, told NBC News.

He said the company is “trying to get to the bottom of it” and has dispatched workers to take the tape down.

“We like to have our names on our units. We’re trying to find out who’s putting the painters tape on it,” he said.

Mr. Weghorst said he did not know the logos were covered up until The Associated Press reported on it and people started “blowing up” the company’s social media pages.

Virginia-based Don’s Johns has supplied portable restrooms for many major events in Washington, D.C., including President Obama’s inauguration ceremonies in 2009 and 2013, Mr. Weghorst told AP.

No logos were taped over during those events, he said.

The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies and the Presidential Inaugural Committee had no immediate comment Friday, AP reported.
