BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (AP) - Officials say a police officer and a pair of dogs were hurt after a Burrillville home went up in flames.

The blaze broke out on Tuesday night. Deputy Chief Michael Gingell of the Harrisville Fire Department says a man and his son arrived home to see their house engulfed in flames.

Two dogs were taken to a veterinarian for treatment. Officials say a police officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.



The house sustained extensive damage.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
