PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police have identified the man killed when a stolen vehicle driven by a teenage boy slammed into the one he was driving.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Mercedes Fortune says he is 61-year-old Dale Curtis.
A minivan and an SUV were involved in the crash that happened just after 1 a.m. on New Year’s day in central Phoenix.
Three teenage girls in Curtis’s vehicle suffered serious injuries.
The 17-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle tried to run away but was detained. Police believe he was under the influence and he remains jailed on manslaughter, DUI and other charges.
