CHILI, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a young boy has been killed and four other people are injured after a two-vehicle collision on a Rochester-area road.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a man was driving in the town of Chili (CHY’-leye) around 8:30 a.m. Thursday when he became distracted, drove through a stop sign and crashed into a car carrying two women and two boys.
Deputies say one of the boys riding in the back seat was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead at a Rochester hospital. His name and age haven’t been released.
The other child and one of the women are in critical condition. The other woman suffered less serious injuries.
The man driving the first car was treated at the scene for his injuries.
No charges have been filed. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
