1 dead after car swerves off I-5 ramp into pond

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) - One person was killed when a vehicle swerved off an Interstate 5 exit ramp and into an icy retention pond in Federal Way.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2krxHMh ) that emergency crews responded to the scene, at the 320th Street exit ramp from southbound I-5, at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials had received reports of a vehicle plunging into a pond.

Divers found the vehicle under the water and pulled out a victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not immediately clear if anyone else was in the vehicle.
