GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two women who died in a head-on vehicle crash in southern Montana.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/2kMM7Y1 ) that the victims of the Saturday collision have been identified as 41-year-old Angelia Whiteman of Lame Deer and 34-year-old Hannah Russell of Busby.

The Montana Highway Patrol says a 74-year-old man heading west on U.S. Highway 212 was trying to pass another vehicle when his car collided with the victims’ eastbound vehicle.

Whiteman had been driving with Russell as her passenger.

They both were not wearing seat belts and died at the scene.

The other driver and his passenger sustained injuries that were not life threatening.

The patrol says snow and poor visibility were factors in the crash and alcohol and drugs are suspected.
