NEW YORK (AP) - Officials say an 81-year-old woman has died in an apartment building fire in the Bronx.

The New York Police Department says emergency crews were called to the scene of the fire on Saint Raymond Avenue in the Bronx around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters extinguished the blaze on the seventh floor, where they found Patricia Parrish unresponsive. Officials say Parrish was unconscious from smoke inhalation.

She was rushed to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced dead.



Investigators haven’t determined the cause of the fire.
