Weddings will certainly not go out of style in 2017, but there will be new trends in the matrimonial industry to look out for. Experts at George Street Photo & Video project that 2017 will be the year of the wedding hashtag.

George Street, which serves over 40 markets, predicts that hashtagging will take off in this young year, as more and more couples in the digital age adapt social media to draw greater attention leading up to their big day. This also allows guests, relatives and friends of the couple to talk to one another leading up to the event, as well as to share photos, video and other memories thereafter.

Other trends anticipated by George Street include photo booths, where guests can take photos of themselves at the event, “movement shots,” wherein a dress can be shown in motion, as well as sparklers and smoke bombs adding color, smoke and sparkle to an already-technicolor day.

“Couples want to make their day a true reflection of themselves and their love for each other,” Nicole Ettenhofer, director of marketing and public relations for George Street, said in a statement.
