LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a body found in a park earlier this month is that of a man who went missing last month.
Ocean County prosecutors announced Tuesday that the death of 18-year-old Eliabit Mena has been ruled a homicide. But they would not say how the Lakewood man was killed.
Mena’s body was found Feb. 1 by a woman walking her dog in Lake Shenandoah Park.
Mena had been reported missing by his mother on Jan. 29. She told authorities that he was planning to go to the park that day to meet with friends.
His mother went to the park when she couldn’t contact him and found his car parked in a nearby lot.
