FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has been charged with stealing two of his brother’s firearms, including an AK-47, and using at least one in a trade for heroin.

The MetroWest Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2lg2NIF ) that 28-year-old David Hunt was arraigned Monday on charges of larceny of a firearm as well as domestic assault and battery from an unrelated incident.

Prosecutors say the Holliston man stole his brother’s guns on Saturday and then assaulted his mother at their home the next day. Hunt’s brother owned the weapons legally.

Hunt’s lawyer asked for his client’s release without bail as he is trying to get help for his addiction.

But Judge Jennifer Stark agreed to revoke Hunt’s bail on another open unrelated case, meaning he will be held for 90 days.
