ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - A longtime conman will be sentenced on charges including theft after an illegally built shack led to his arrest.

The Aspen Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2lgH57h) 57-year-old James Hogue pleaded guilty to theft ranging from $2,000 to $5,000, possession of burglary tools, and obstructing a police officer.

His sentencing is set for March 20.

Hogue was arrested at a library last year.

Authorities say he had grabbed a go-bag and jumped out a window of an illegally built cabin before officers could speak with him.

He said in court that he had a wire cutter he planned to use during burglaries and possessed items that were not his.

News sources report some of Hogue’s past exploits include lying to get into Princeton and a case involving thefts near Telluride.
