NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire attorney general’s office says an auto dealership has refunded about $12,000 to consumers who bought used cars that were sold in violation of the Consumer Protection Act.

The office’s Consumer Protection Bureau received multiple complaints that Platinum Auto Brokers, formerly located in Nashua, sold unsafe and uninspected vehicles without giving the buyers notice or advising them or their right to have the car inspected with the defects noted.

The attorney general’s office said Tuesday the company failed to remove old inspection stickers before the sale and failed to inform customers that the cars they bought were unsafe.

A judge approved a settlement on Friday.
