FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) - Newly released 911 records show that the girlfriend of a man found dead in the western Maryland woods was naked when authorities reached her, hours after she says they fell off a cliff.
The Associated Press obtained a transcript of the Garrett County emergency communications Monday through a Public Information Act request.
The 20-year-old woman told a dispatcher she was lost all night after she and 24-year-old Alexander Stevens fell from the High Rock overlook in the Savage River State Forest. She says she eventually found a house and called 911.
Other 911 records show that Stevens was also naked when searchers found his body on a logging road Jan. 4. Police have said only that he suffered some trauma.
State police spokesman Greg Shipley says the investigation is continuing.
