OSSIPEE, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say a Massachusetts woman suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive after her snowmobile crashed into a tree.

Officials say 60-year-old Denise Woods, of Billerica, Massachusetts, was turning left at a trail junction around 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Ossipee when icy conditions caused her to slip and hit the throttle, sending the snowmobile into a tree.

Woods was taken to Huggins Hospital with serious injuries not considered life-threatening.

Fish and Game officials are investigating the incident. They believe inexperience while operating in icy conditions was a primary factor in the crash.
