HICKORY, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Catawba County say a man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the beating death of his wife more than three years ago.
The Hickory Daily Record reports (https://bit.ly/2lgFjPl) Marvin Antonio Hill entered his plea on Monday in Catawba County Superior Court. He was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison.
A police report says officers responding to a call in November 2013 found Louver Hill’s body in a bedroom.
Assistant District Attorney Lance Sigmon said previously that Marvin Hill initially told officers that he and his wife had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical, and that his wife fell and hit her head.
An autopsy showed Louver Hill suffered three blows to the head and died of blunt force trauma.
