NY offers free snowmobiling for out-of-state residents

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Out-of-state residents can hit New York snowmobile trails for free this weekend.

Registration fees are being waived for out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers through Sunday as part of the Cuomo administration’s winter tourism promotion.

State snowmobile registration costs $100, or $45 for members local snowmobile clubs.

New York has more than 10,000 miles of snowmobile trails.

All snowmobilers must be properly registered and insured.
