RIMROCK, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have identified a driver who died after he and his vehicle got washed away in a runoff-swollen creek in north-central Arizona.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say the body of 59-year-old Robert Kind of Cottonwood was recovered Tuesday from Beaver Creek.
They say Kind tried to use an unbridged crossing of the creek.
His body was later spotted downstream by a helicopter crew.
Authorities say the mostly submerged vehicle ended up about a quarter-mile downstream from the Reay Road crossing of Beaver Creek in the McGuireville area near the Verde Valley.
