LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Severe weather is in the forecast for Arkansas as a strong storm system is set to cross the state.
The Storm Prediction Center says virtually all of Arkansas is at a slight or enhanced risk for severe weather on Tuesday. Temperatures should climb into the 60s and 70s before storms develop in several areas ahead of and along a cold front.
Forecasters say with moderate instability and with winds moving at different directions at different heights, there could be tornadoes in an area from Arkansas to southern Illinois. Twisters could also spin up along a squall line from Missouri to the Ohio Valley.
About 3.8 million people are in an area where significant severe weather could happen - from Little Rock to southern Illinois east of St. Louis.
