WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Police say an 82-year-old man has been killed in a three-car crash.
Warwick Police responded to the crash on Warwick Avenue Sunday night. They say one of the drivers, 82-year-old Daniel McCarthy, of Cranston, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police say another driver, 26-year-old Megan White, of Warwick, was charged with one count of driving under the influence, death resulting. She was arraigned Monday in Kent County District Court. Bail was set at $15,000 surety.
WPRI-TV reports White’s car was traveling south when it struck another car entering the roadway, sending both cars into a third vehicle.
White’s attorney, Richard Humphrey, says he’s still gathering the facts but called it a tragic situation and extended sympathies to McCarthy’s family.
Police continue to investigate.
