Pedestrian killed trying to cross interstate in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Police say a 41-year-old Asheville man was fatally struck while trying to cross Interstate 240.

Asheville police tell local media outlets that Charles Anthony Wood was hit about 8:30 p.m. Saturday while trying to cross the interstate on foot near exit 3.

He died at the scene.

Asheville police say the investigation continues.
