CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a man has been injured while escaping from a fire in his Coralville apartment.

The fire was reported just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Coralville Fire Chief Dave Stannard says the 41-year-old man had burns as well as injuries suffered when he jumped from his second-story balcony. He was taken to a hospital.

Stannard says it took firefighters about 90 minutes to contain the blaze. The fire damage was contained mostly to the man’s apartment. The fire cause is being investigated.
