CARRINGTON, N.D. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a mobile home fire that killed three children in the northeastern North Dakota town of Carrington.

Carrington Fire Chief Ken Wangen says firefighters were called just after 4:30 a.m. Saturday, and the home was fully engulfed by the time they arrived.

A post created on GoFundMe identifies the victims who died as the three young children of Dawn and Brandon Tufte though it doesn’t name the children. Over $46,000 had been raised by Sunday morning for funeral costs and other family needs.

Three other people survived and were taken to a hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and state fire marshal are investigating.

Carrington is a town of about 2,100 people about 56 miles south of Devils Lake.
