ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A 34-year-old man has pleaded guilty to beating a 53-year-old man to death and setting his body on fire after breaking into his Anderson County home in 2015.
The Anderson Independent-Mail reports (https://bit.ly/2lioTGR ) that Oscar Lance faces life in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter, first-degree burglary and arson.
His brother, 20-year-old Jacob Lance, remains in jail on murder, burglary and arson charges.
Prosecutors accuse the Lance brothers of breaking into Todd Cantlay’s home on Nov. 13, 2015 and beating him with a blunt object they believe was a baseball bat.
Detectives have previously said Jacob Lance sold marijuana to Cantlay’s son, and the brothers went to the home after a dispute about the drugs.
